Children's birthday party

Invite your friends to a real castle for your birthday! All sorts of adventures await you here, just waiting to be mastered, and there are exciting mysteries to unravel. Along the way, you’ll learn a thing or two about the castle, its inhabitants and medieval life within these ancient walls. At every birthday party, there’s crafting, painting or cutting out, and of course you can take your creation home with you as a keepsake.

Ghost hunting

ages 7 and up

A ghost in the castle?! It really does seem that the spirit of the Prince-Bishop is haunting Veste Oberhaus. A secret he kept hidden during his lifetime continues to haunt him to this day. Only if the birthday child and their guests uncover the secret can the Bishop’s spirit be set free and finally find peace. After an exciting treasure hunt, the children write down their own secrets with pen and ink.

Guided tours with a workshop programme

As an alternative to the ‘Ghost Hunt’ birthday programme, you can also book a workshop programme including a guided tour of the medieval exhibition for your child’s birthday party. The duration and terms of the birthday party remain the same. Please note the relevant age requirements!

Procedure

Every children’s birthday party consists of three parts:

  • Discovery tour: We take a closer look at the castle or an exhibition, for example as the setting for a treasure hunt.
  • Crafts: We make a themed souvenir that the children can take home with them.
  • Break: An opportunity to enjoy food and drinks brought from home.

Please ensure you wear weather-appropriate clothing! As part of the discovery tour, we will also be exploring the grounds outside the castle complex.
